Destination shopping event a first for Claydon Estate Posted On 07 May 2021

Boutique brands take centre stage at Humble Country Fayre

The picturesque Claydon Estate just outside Buckingham will host the county’s first destination shopping event next month.

More than 50 independent brands, including several from Buckinghamshire, will be exhibiting at the Humble Country Fayre in Middle Claydon where boutique homeware items and high-end gifts not typically found on the high street will be on sale.

And, as well as the soft furnishings, tableware, jewellery, luxury clothing and food and drink on offer, there will be free demonstrations of perfumery, making botanical wreaths, willow weaving and sourdough baking.

It all adds up to a bumper weekend on June 18th and 19th and Vicki Usher, the owner and founder of Humble Country Events, told The Bucks Herald: “I am so excited. After a tough 12 months for us all, the COVID-safe outdoor event will provide visitors with the chance to get together with family and friends for a relaxing and fun day in the fresh air to purchase some unusual and beautiful gifts and homewares.

“My team has carefully curated over 50 independent boutique style businesses – many of whom are based locally, are experts in their field and who are also passionate about making sustainable and environmentally-friendly products. We are also keen to encourage people to ‘shop small, support small’ – particularly important after this last year.”

Local exhibitors are expected to include Bucks Brothers Gin; Sosouk, Scent and Seed; Nephele Bags; Forever Wild Interiors; Livlike Busby; Mette Hoj; Twisted Root Jewellery; Quiet Blue Company; Fleur Botanical; and Willow & Hen.

Alexandra Verney, of Claydon Estate said: “We look forward to re-launching our programme of events here, starting with Humble Country Fayre in June, and once again seeing the estate abuzz with people enjoying a great day out.”

Tickets cost £5 per person and are available from www.humblecountry.co.uk/claydon Numbers are limited because of coronavirus restrictions.
