Your guide to hosting a fantastic World Cup 2022 watch-along party Posted On 22 November 2022

It is time to cheer the Three Lions on to victory in Qatar

World Cup fever has taken over the globe.

The pinnacle competition of international football has officially kicked off in Qatar, with some of the biggest names in the sport representing their national sides and battling it out to be crowned the best.

People back at home are busily cheering on Gareth Southgate and the Three Lions as they attempt to win their first major tournament since 1966.

This is a brilliant festivity to share with loved ones and many of us will be hosting watchalong parties for England’s matches throughout the competition.

Here are a few tips to level up your World Cup parties.

Invest in a projector

Projectors have plummeted in price in recent years, while improving in quality.

By investing in a good projector, you will be able to display the upcoming game in a far larger format to ensure all of your guests are able to see the full screen.

Snacks and food are crucial

Getting plenty of snacks to keep all guests happy and fed is important.

You could even consider setting up your own concession stand with burgers and hotdogs, particularly for any watching parties held outdoors.

However, with this World Cup competition being held during the UK’s winter, you could instead create a table of food and snacks inside, themed around the nations playing that day.

Pick up food from the respective nations to give your guests the chance to sample different cuisines from across the globe.

Build up around the event

While people are coming to your home to watch the big match, this does not have to be the only feature of the day.

You could put on additional activities before or after the match.

Get everyone on their feet for a special penalty shootout in the garden, using only a ball and a couple of poles.

Alternatively you could get crafty and create your own football themed versions of popular board games, like “pin the tie on Gareth Southgate” or Guess Who?, with the England squad.
